The Tour de France Cycle Race

This comic scene is inspired by a real-life anecdote. The competitors in the Tour de France were misdirected on to a country lane. A drunkard had exchanged the signposts. In the middle of a village, the cyclists ran into a crowd of little pigs and fell off their bikes.

This scene was shown in the Grands Magasins du Louvre at Christmas 1936.
