The Fairy's Serenade
Inspired by Peynet
This scene reflects all the fantasy of Peynet. The enamoured prince plays the Fairy's Serenade on the wings of a bird, the daisy swings on a snail, the snail plods along with its castle on its back, the snow giraffe nibbles at a croissant - a crescent - of the moon...
Peynet : "It was in 1942, in front of the newspaper stand in Valence, and while waiting for a correspondent who was to hand him a confidential message, that Peynet for the first time imagined his two characters, who were immortalized when Max Favalelli, the chief editor of the magazine Ric et Rac, called them "Peynet's Lovers."
This scene was shown in the Galeries Lafayette in 1955.
